New work
Here is my first embroidered cuff bracelet. It took me about 20 hrs. A lot longer then I thought it would be. And to be honest I don't know how fast I would want to do another. Right now my hand hurts and I must give it a rest. Last week I also made a cabochon turquoise necklace.

Sunday morning musings
31 yrs. ago my husband and I took our children to see the 1st Star Wars movie. My son Tommy was then 7 yrs old. It was opening night and jam packed. We just barely got in. 1st row and a crick in the neck we watch this movie in awe. Flash forward to yesterday and here we are, my husband and I going to see the 1st animated Star Wars the Clone Wars. Not as crowded, thank goodness. Only this time with our grandson Matthew. He's 7 years old. Then of course we had to take him to the toy store to get the latest in Star War toy. Clone helmet. ...:) Because isn't that what Grandparents do.

Good News!
My lace came back from Convention today. And boy did I get a wonderful surprise. My Challenge piece won a 1st place ribbon and $100. prize. I'm so excited I don't know what to do with my self. I will have to write my teacher Cristina and give her the good news. I know she would be so happy for me. My flower didn't win anything and the only critique was about the little murano bead that I had forgot to take off. They did acknowledge the amount of work that went into it....

ooops!
ooops! I knew I forgot something. I wanted to post our class picture from QBL
So here it is..
Nothing else new . Just spending the day cleaning out my desk drawers. Stuff I saved because I thought I would want to do them. Not interested in them any longer. I did fine somethings that I could use now. Incorporating techniques that I learned from Lura. So in a way I got re inspired...A good thing.

I realize that it has been over a month since my last blog. It has been an in creditably busy month. I have been working on some new beaded jewelry pieces for my stock and 2 new pieces for an entry in the Celebrating Beads contest in Washington DC. Which I just finished and have sent in my entry. Phew......Can't show you pictures of those until I know whether or not they made the cut. It's a Juried show. So folks, say a pray for me and just to be on the safe side cross your fingers too....LOL
Yesterday was the last day for the International Old Lacer's, Inc convention. Don't have any news on how my lace pieces did.
I also went to QBL (Quilting by the Lake) . This was my first time and It was a lot of fun. The weather was beautiful (I was there the 2nd week) I heard the 1st week had a lot of rain. I took a class with Lura Schwarz Smith and her husband Kerby Smith
It was a wonderful class and I have certainly learned a lot. In Lura's part of the class I learned how to use the Tsukineko Inks & fabrico markers. Also Primscolored pencils for shading
This is my grandson Matthew. Not to bad but I will probably do it over. In Kerby's part of the class I learned how to manipulate photos in Photoshop Elements 6 and somethings about my camera I had know idea about. I would definitely recommend a class with either one of them . They where so patience with us. Even through we asked the same questions over and over again.
So now I have to see what I'm going to do next. Do I continue making jewelry. Do I baste a baby quilt that I'm making for my nephew? Baby's due in Sept. I have half a sweater knitted. Or do I practice drawing and inking. Using what I learned in Lura's class, before I forget it? mmmmmm... such problems.lol
