Beaufort So. Carolina

We have a lovely day out visiting all the galleries here. There is so much opportunties here for an artist to show their work.  The day was exceptionally warm from February.  In the 80's.
Here are a few other pictures:

Dynamic Views

Well I tried the new Dynamic views template. I really didn't like it.I had to many problems with it, So I came back to the old classic style. For one thing, even through it seemed I was getting more visits there absolutely no comments. Which I thought was a little strange since I had asked for them. Then there was the fact that I couldn't share it with my facebook page. All I could do is like it. Well of course I like it. It's my blog..Duh! Then the last, but not least, was the fact in the last couple of days I couldn't even get on it to make changes or post. I could not fine the sign in. @#$$%$##!...

Tomorrow I will post some pix of my new earrings and a really neat beaded bead I just made. (I have to take the pictures 1st..hehehe)

Savannah February 10, 2012

My husband and I went to Savannah on Friday and while walking around the river front took a few pictures. Here they are.

I had a hard time taking this shot. This little feller was a little camera shy and kept turning his head.

This feller is not camera shy

Now this Winged Lion was very interesting. It reminded me so much of the Lions we see in Venice. I stopped in to the Chamber of Commons to see if they had any information on it, but there was nothing. I would really love to know what inspired the use of a winged lion. Maybe it was a visit by someone who also fell in Love with Venice.
There were two revolutionary cannons on display. Once used for ceremonies for visiting Presidents. During the Civil War the conferates hid them from the Union Armies

Instant Gratification

Better known as making earrings.....giggle.. I made the copper beaded earrings the other day after my distasterist attemps at making a bangle bracelet. The second pair, which is made with Swarovski crystals and pearls, I made this morning.

Friday, February 10, 2012

I've been working on a very pretty bracelet from one of my Bead & Button magazines.  No pictures this time, since it was a total disaster and I took it apart. That was the 1st time. Did I mention that I tried doing this bracelet a 2nd time?Oh ya, and when I got 3/4's through I realized it wasn't working, so I took it out again. At this time, I don't think I will try it again. Maybe sometime later. I need to figure out if it's me or the instructions.
I did make a cute pair of earrings though.  They were quick and easy and I needed something to make me feel better about wasting 4 days on the bracelet. Better known as instant gratification.

The Dress Challenge

In my last post mentioned I needed to name my Fiber art quilt. Well with the help of my friend Joyce, it now has a name. "Fantasy Floral" Yay! So glad to get that out of the way. I'm afraid that my creativity does not lie in writing.

Now, on the next little quilt that I just finished. This one is for another Art Quilt group that I belong too. It will be part of the Northern Star Quilter Guilds' Show in May.This particular challenge is called the dress, Finished size to be 10"x 14". Since, in my previous life I made fashion dolls, I have many books on period clothes. I also have access to old Ladies Home Journal Magazines that belong to the Yorktown Museum. The hardest part of this challenge was to decide which time period to do. I finally settled on the early part of the 20th Century. Everything was done in Photoshop and then printed on fabric. I named it the "Ladies of Fashion" Not exactly the greatest name. But I told you I'm not very good at naming my work.
