Handmade Beaded Jewelry

It seems I can't concentrate on anything else but this quilt. So I went back to my photos of Italian church floors to look at designs. What I notice was that they used several different colors in their mosaics. And I thought, well if they could do that, why can't I. So I started another ring to replace the one I had on it already. I think it would make an easier transition to the next ring or for me to square it off.

  1. I like the rosier fabric around the circle of the ones you've suggested. Have you any of the reds to use instead of the black for the whole background? The black looks a little funereal to me. Unless you're trying to suggest their romance comes to a bad ending.

  2. This piece is lovely. My suggestion would be a very narrow black ring, about 1/4 - 1/2 inch, that would look like piping. Then the beige, about 1", and then black. I think that would set off your picture in the middle.

  3. Both suggestions are very interesting. I'm going to pin some fabric in and around and see what I get. I will post some pictures. Thanks. I appreciate your input...Maxine
